If you want to know what’s wrong with our campaign finance laws – and our political system in a more general sense – look at the way Sheldon Adelson is buying the Republican nomination for his sock puppet, Newt Gingrich.
Right now, the anonymous donors to a political action committee, or PAC, can buy ads on behalf of – or against – a candidate, and spend unlimited amounts as long as there is no official connection between the PAC and any candidate. This degree of separation, however, is pure fiction: in reality, “former” aides to the candidate can and do operate these “Super PACs,” which are funded by one Daddy Warbucks or another: no overt coordination is necessary. What’s important here is disclosure, or the lack of it: the PACs don’t have to say who is funding these ads, only that the “Committee for Good Government” or some such semi-fictional entity is paying for it. In this way, Adelson – a casino billionaire, one of the richest people in the country – can drop a cool $10 million into the race (with more in the pipeline) and in effect buy the election, without the average voter knowing who is paying the bills. In short, Adelson can operate in the dark, as far as Joe Voter is concerned – and darkness is what the Adelsonian agenda requires above all.
So what is Adelson’s agenda?
He and his allies have been campaigning for war with Iran for years, not only here but in the Middle East. Adelson is a major financial backer of Israel’s ultra-nationalist Likud party, which calls in its platform for a “Greater Israel,” and he has backed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the hilt. The 16th richest man in the world, with his casino empire stretching from Macao to Las Vegas, he thought nothing of giving $60 million to Israel’s anniversary celebration. He is also a major backer of AIPAC, the most important pro-Israel lobbying organization – but downsized his contribution when the group signed on to the two-state solution advanced by both Republican and Democratic presidents – on the grounds that the plan means Israel is “committing suicide.” He supports the extremist – and increasingly violent – “settler” movement, and is the money-bags behind the “Clarion Fund,” which is responsible for flooding the US with anti-Arab propaganda. As a major contributor to the “Birthright” program, which sponsors trips to Israel by students from around the world, he addressed a recent Birthright gathering in Israel, where he declared:

Newt vs. Mitt: The Ugly Season
Newt Gingrich’s surge to success in South Carolina has surely brought joy to the Obama White House.
For his 12-point victory ensures the fight for the GOP nomination will not end soon and will get nastier. Indeed, it already has. Whether Newt or Mitt Romney emerges victorious, the candidate who comes out of the Republican convention will be bruised and bloodied.
Consider, first, Newt.
According to a Fox News poll, 56 percent of the American people have an unfavorable opinion of the former speaker. Only 27 percent hold a favorable opinion. By two to one, the nation has a negative view of Newt. And as Newt has been a national figure for two decades, to reverse the impression he has left on the country would require an immense volume of positive media, free and bought.
And Newt is getting neither.
Now, in Florida, Romney has decided to tear the scab off, and 24 hours after his South Carolina defeat, he is busy at it.
Newt, said Mitt, “was a leader for four years as speaker of the House. … And at the end of four years … he was a failed leader, and he had to resign in disgrace. … He was investigated (by) an ethics panel and had to make a payment associated with that, and then … 88 percent of his (fellow) Republicans voted to reprimand Speaker Gingrich.”
“What’s (Newt) been doing for 15 years?” Mitt asked. “He’s been working as a lobbyist … and selling influence around Washington.”
Mitt did not bring up Newt’s three wives and the tawdry tale told by second wife Marianne to ABC. Yet the super PACs of the Democratic Party will make sure the women of America know how Newt treated his first two wives, should he become the nominee.

Newt Gingrich And Richard Lapchick: Partners In America’s Racial Revolution
Back in November, a couple of Gingrich resurrections ago, my VDARE.com colleague Peter Bradley pointed out in Newt Gingrich—GOP’s Anti-White Quota King that the former House Speaker had used his time in office (1995-1998) to sabotage any chance that the Affirmative Action revolution could be reversed. I think it’s worth reviewing that revolution, and one of its characteristic apparatchiks, Richard E. (“social conscience of sport”) Lapchick. I don’t suppose Lapchick [Email him] will support Gingrich, but he should.
Few people seem to grasp the completeness of this radical left victory in America. Recent examples:
•The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the diversity commissariat staffed by 42 percent black people, has ruled that companies requiring a high school diploma for employment might be violating the Americans with Disabilities Act.
This unquestionably has something to do with the fact that Black students—though only 17 percent of the public school population—make up 31 percent of those students classified as having a mental retardation or intellectual deficiency. Maybe this would explain why The New York Times published an article bemoaning the incredible low proficiency of black students across the nation. •The EEOC has forced Pepsi Beverages Co. to pay $3.1 million dollars and to stop using criminal background checks on potential employees.
In other words, because Black people engage in a disproportionate amount of the criminality in America, it seems that background checks will soon go the way of IQ tests (dumped courtesy of the landmark court case Griggs v. Duke). VDARE.com Editor Peter Brimelow quite rightly called this a case of the Minority Occupation Government oppressing the majority and using political power redistributing resource in the interests of its clients.

Here He Comes Again!
Newt Gingrich is a one-man, made-in-America melting pot. Here’s a committed devotee of tooth-and-claw capitalism, vultures perched on both shoulders, advocate of 8-year old black children working as janitors – campaigning with a pro-worker film of which John Reed or Ken Loach would be proud, paid for by a rabidly anti-union billionaire who thinks Israel should bomb Iran and drive the Palestinians into the sea.
One has to feel for Romney, thrashing about amidst the Newt horror. Here comes the portly Georgian, brushing aside the Mormon priests guarding Mitt’s hotel suite, kicking open the bedroom door, seizing Romney by the throat…Aaaargh! And then Romney is awake, realizing that this is a cold-sweat nightmare that will last … maybe until they close in Florida on January 31, maybe until Super Tuesday on March 6, when nine states hold their primaries, maybe….
We left Romney amidst the supposed flush of victory in Iowa (now awarded to Santorum), and triumph in New Hampshire, with polls in South Carolina showing him a solid ten points ahead of Gingrich, who made a poor showing in New Hampshire on top of a fourth place in Iowa below Santorum and Ron Paul.
Gingrich burned for revenge for his rough treatment in New Hampshire by Romney’s campaign commercials. But how, on a tight timeline, to acquaint South Carolina Republicans with Romney’s infamies?
He needed money, lots of it, double-quick. Occupy Las Vegas!
Some things don’t change in American politics, and rich people sitting in Las Vegas with pots of cash is one of them. Joel McCleary, a friend, remembers fund-raising in Las Vegas when he was working for the Jimmy Carter campaign in 1976. The crucial Pennsylvania primary was coming up and the Carter people (their chief fundraiser was Morris Dees) needed a big wad of cash for the final push against Henry “Scoop” Jackson of Washington, known as “the senator from Boeing,” also running for the Democratic nomination and favored by powerful labor chieftains in Pennsylvania.

Drudge Screwed Up ABC's Plans for the Marianne Gingrich Interview
All right, folks. I just saw the Marianne Gingrich video, and I think -- I'll be honest with you -- I think the Democrats may have to give Newt a second look here. Well, follow me on this. Newt Gingrich, aside from the budget deal in '95 and being made to ride in the back of Air Force One, Newt got along with Clinton pretty well, if you recall, and Newt treated Hillary with respect, even sat on the couch with Nancy Pelosi. Now, there's an accusation out there that Newt wanted an open marriage, just like Bill and Hillary. And, in fact, Newt even had the politeness to ask permission for it. Do you think Bill ever did that?
Now, if Newt can hold onto enough of the Republican base, he might take 20% of the Democrat vote with this. You know how this stuff is a resume enhancement in the Democrat Party. I wouldn't make too many snap judgments here. I don't understand why the media's pretending to be so upset about these charges coming from Marianne. I mean, it's all about sex and how many times are we told that somebody's sex life, even if they're president, doesn't matter. It's nobody's business as long as it doesn't affect the job. And how about all the sex stories from Obama's former girlfriends? That's right: What stories? What former girlfriends? In fact, have we ever found out anything about any of his students when he supposedly taught law at the University of Chicago or buddies at Harvard Law Review? I mean, we still don't know anything. "Mr. Limbaugh, this is very clever of you trying to disguise the fact that Mr. Gingrich is..." No, I'm just reacting here. In fact, I got a great note.
I got a great note from a friend of mine. "So Newt wanted an open marriage. BFD. At least he asked his wife for permission instead of cheating on her. That's a mark of character, in my book. Newt's a victim. We all are. Ours is the horniest generation. We were soldiers in the sex revolution. We were tempted by everything from Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice to Plato's Retreat, Deep Throat to no-fault divorce. Many of us paid the ultimate price, AIDS, abortion, or alimony for the cultural marching orders we got. Hell, for all I know we should be getting disability from the government." That's from a good friend of mine, "Newt's slogan ought to, 'Hell, yes, I wanted it.'" (laughing) I'm sharing with you how some people are reacting to this.
Now, of course, we're not gonna get ABC News -- in a race, by the way, with NBC now. ABC, how about this. We were told ABC had been very concerned about the ethical implications of airing their hit piece on a Republican candidate right before an important primary election. I almost wrenched my back laughing at that, that the ABC suits were in an ethical fight, in a conundrum? I wonder, oh, my God, what to do, what's the ethical thing to do here? If there was any debate at ABC, it was over when would be the best time to do it so as to cause the most harm. That was the only debate.

The “GinGrinch” Steals Christmas
Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich is much nastier than the Grinch of children’s storybook fame, who only disguised himself as Santa to ruin Christmas. Gingrich is a moral leper who fleeced taxpayers for millions of dollars and wants to start World War III by attacking Iran.
Gingrich has been naughty not nice, so we’re making a list and checking it twice.
For helping Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac destroy the economy, costing millions of Americans their jobs and homes, “The GinGrinch” was paid $1.6 million to oppose those who wanted to stop these taxpayer-guaranteed loans. On April 24, 2007—just before the collapse—Gingrich said: “I think conservatives should embrace and want to extend (these sub-prime loans) as widely as possible.” In 2008, three-quarters of all home loans in the U.S. were guaranteed by taxpayers through Freddie Mac.
If Gingrich gets in the White House, he will turn the country into a coast-to-coast real-life nightmare a la Frank Capra’s vision of Pottersville, the fictional alternative reality in the movie It’s a Wonderful Life.
As for me, all I want for Christmas is for Gingrich and all the neocons to volunteer for the frontlines in Afghanistan and all the other countries they want America to attack. I want someone like Ron Paul to win the White House and bring America’s sons and daughters safely home. I want to solve our money problems by getting rid of the banksters’ privately owned Federal Reserve.

GOP Candidates: Bibi First, America Second
Here's how this lovers' triangle came together: on Saturday night, Newt Gingrich delivered a two-minute stemwinder (PDF) that called the Palestinian Authority's leading statesman a terrorist, warned of US-funded textbooks for Arabs that glorify the killing of Jews, and doubled down on his claim that the Palestinians are a "fictional people."
Romney, sensing he had new competition for Netanyahu's graces, attacked that last point: "The United States of America should not jump ahead of Bibi Netanyahu and say something that makes it more difficult for him to do his job…If Bibi Netanyahu wants to say what you said, let him say it."
What to make of this suitors' spat? Sometimes, love can blind you to a person's faults. Neither Gingrich nor Romney seemed especially interested in Israel, the raucous, largely secular nation of 8 million people represented by 31 political parties. Instead, they focused on Bibi, whose hawkish coalition government can hardly be said to represent all Israelis. ("The more Israel's image in the world deteriorates, the more Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is flourishing," Ha'aretz wrote a few months back.)
Romney was so inflamed by pro-Israel passions Saturday night that he basically promised to dial Bibi's digits before even saying something about the Mideast. ("Would it help if I said this? What would you like me to do?") Gingrich, for his part, attacked President Obama. "Every day, rockets are fired into Israel while the United States, the current administration, tries to pressure the Israelis into a peace process," he said, later adding: "We're not making life more difficult [for Israel]. The Obama administration's making life more difficult."

Newt Gingrich: The White Party’s Candidate?
Newt Gingrich is the most anti-white candidate in the GOP presidential field. In fact, he may be one of the most anti-white Republicans ever. It is true that 81 percent of the jobs Rick Perry says he brought to Texas went to newly arrived immigrants (93 percent of whom were illegals), and he says that denying in-state tuition to illegals is heartless, but Newt Gingrich makes the him look like Tom Tancredo by comparison.
In the 2010 midterm elections, nearly 90 percent of votes for Republicans were cast by whites. John McCain’s support was of an identical complexion. Writing for The New York Times, Thomas Edsall, like Steve Sailer and Pat Buchanan before him, has dubbed the GOP “The White Party.” But rather than consolidating his proven white base and welcoming white working class voters who are increasingly defecting to the GOP, Newt Gingrich seems determined to dispossess that base while mollycoddling groups that will never vote for his party in significant numbers.
Since Ronald Reagan’s second term, Mr. Gingrich has been a proponent of the “Opportunity Society” platform that encourages property ownership. This was the prototype for President George W. Bush’s “Ownership Society,” which, in practice, meant lower mortgage standards for minorities, with an eye to winning Hispanic support.
Mr. Gingrich’s pandering is not limited to Hispanics. In 1997, when J.C. Watts called Jesse Jackson and then D.C. mayor Marion Barry “race hustling poverty pimps,” then-Speaker Gingrich apologized to Mr. Jackson on behalf of Congressman Watts, and invited him to sit in the Speaker’s gallery with his (second) wife during the State of the Union speech. In 2009, Mr. Gingrich teamed up with Al Sharpton for a five-city education tour “aimed at bridging the achievement gap for minorities in schools.”
Presidential candidates are fond of saying “my record speaks for itself.” In the case of Newt Gingrich, this is certainly true, and whites would do well to study his record closely before pulling the lever next year.

Newt wanted to restructure the US government outlined in the Constitution, that he swore to uphold and said he believed in, giving special terror authority to the Executive Branch before 9/11 based on terror attacks he thought of before they happened months later.
